because we can never really shut up when we should. We don't really lie because it will drive us nuts if we don't say what we need to say. we will in fact explode if we don't get it out there right NOW!
We will say how we feel and hope that you don't take it too seriously, because things will change in about 5 minutes. Just know that we love you very much, but will think to just use the phrase "oh boy what would I do if I could only find a little dull knife"
And if you don't really want to do something you'll just pull a "Phoebe"..."I would really like to help you out but I really don't want to" I am having a crazy manic day and i might not even want to hang out with myself. Note to self...where are those darn pills? Where did I leave them? Oh my gosh I am loosing my mind again. I can't remember where I left those damn pills again!!

Re: I think bipolar people are the most honest people.....
Sun, March 16, 2008 - 7:43 AMReally... I thought I had a problem with tactfulness.... my tolerance for bullshit is so low its almost nonexistent... and I say things that most people think but are too afraid to say because their ego holds them hostage.... I can seem two faced to some degree... I can say I love you and be sincere... in 30 seconds I can tell you that I really can't stand you and be sincere... for whatever reason no one understands that we all have aspects that are both likeable and dislikeable... they just think I'm flighty and wishy washy... but no I'm sincere with what I say.... I would like for people to be honest with me.... for I am honest with them....
I also think that we are the most introspective.... -

Re: I think bipolar people are the most honest people.....
Sun, March 16, 2008 - 1:14 PMI think you are right. I wish people would be honest with me too. "Please don't tell me what you think I want to hear but please tell me what you really think" "I promise my feelings will not be hurt. In fact it will help me to see things a little more clear". I often don't have much too feel when people say things to me. I just have a lot of ups and downs and everything else in between, but those are my feelings and my emotions. They are not generated be other people but in fact they are generated by what is going on in my head. Does that make any sense???
Since, my wires are somewhat different from other people. It really is interesting how they see things and what they think. If they are really honest.
I have always felt that I want to know the truth of how they feel and how they came up with those feelings. We really don't need to agree with what other individuals ideas, feelings, point of view, but it can be so interesting to know how they came up with "that" (whatever "that" might be.

honesty about ourselves and about the worlds in which we live ... always the best franklin-esque policy.
even when the truth can kill, it still sets me free. -

Re: I think bipolar people are the most honest people.....
Sat, March 22, 2008 - 2:26 PMI agree.
I just don't see the point in not saying what you really feel or what you really think. I know there has to be a way of saying something, but the truth should come out. It really saves a LOT of time and possible heartache.

Re: I think bipolar people are the most honest people.....
Sun, March 23, 2008 - 10:47 AMI have taking to just shutting up. One can't be homeless if one's proprietor doesn't know what you really think of them.
But it is really just so hard some days to NOT say something. -

Re: I think bipolar people are the most honest people.....
Sun, March 23, 2008 - 11:12 AMi agree that not sayin what you mean is a big time sink, with long-lasting repersussions.
Over time, what I've done is hone my skills in removing as much emotion from it as posssible (never easy) and
finding non-thratening, even loving ways to communicate what IS for me.
There's no controlling how people are going to react, but over time, people do learn what to expect from engaging with you and when they learn that it's safe to relate.
All extremely hard own skills in the world of bi-polar. -

i think you are so spot on here, but im so used to biting my tongue and clenching my teeth and my hands that it is actually a con rather than a pro. i think it wld be better for me and for others if i did actually get out of my libran diplomacy habit and lay whatever lil fucker it is who's being a dick on the line ...
but i HATE that that is then MISconstrued as aggression ...
grrrrrrrrrr.
